  1. Your female could be egg bound. You need to do some research and see what you need to do.

  2. Is she ill?

  3. A parrot at the bottom of its cage means the bird is very sick. Out of instinct, parrots hide their illnesses so that they do not appear weak to predators. This instinct makes it hard for humans to tell when a bird is sick. Often the first clue we have is when the bird is at the bottom of his or her cage and is fluffy and sleepy. That means that your bird is already rather sick.

My advice is to keep her warm and take her to an avian vet as soon as possible. If she is not eating, try offering millet or one of her favorite grains (mine like oatmeal or brown rice). The symptoms you describe indicate that you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

  4. I had a female cockatiel and she was egg bound I put her in a smaller separte cage covered it partially put a heating pad Under the cage Not In It  and put it on warm Not Hot, and for some reason that helped her lay her egg.

  5. usually when parakeets are all fluffed out and just sitting on the bottom of the cage..plus it looks sleepy it probably means its sick. is she eating well and drinking? if not i would take her to the vet
