  1. No it is not rare.I had a cat that loved to do that. In fact what she really liked was for me to leave the bedside light on and pointed at her so it was really warm and then she could get under the covers and put her head on the pillow. I have a picture of her sound asleep like that.Cats are amazing and fascinating creatures and they have so many interesting little quirks.

  2. Cats are very personable creatures.  They love being around us and interacting with us.  This is completely normal.  I've never had a cat that didn't sleep with me and mine is at the vet right now, so I miss her SO MUCH.

This is fine; and it's really cool; shows you're a good pet owner and he loves you so much.

I'm curious though.  Male Calico's are very difficult to find.  I hope you keep him inside.  He's not a rare breed, but a male is very rare and he would disappear if left outside (if you get my meaning).

Cover him up and keep him warm!!!!!

  3. "Calico" isn't a breed, it's a colouration. Male calicos are very rare, because it requires an extra X chromosome.

However, this colouration has nothing to do with your cat's behaviour. It sounds to me like he is a very social, very attention-seeking cat. This is neither normal nor abnormal...it really just depends on the individual cat. I've had cats who would -never- sleep on the bed, and I've had a cat who would sleep curled up against me all night,  and during the day would never leave my side, and if she napped and woke up and I wasn't there, she would start crying, and wouldn't stop crying until she found me.

Your cat's behaviour is perfectly normal as long as that is what he always does...it's when he does something completely out of chacarter that you need to get worried.

You're a lucky person to have such an affectionate cat who obviously loves you. Take good care of him!

  4. Calico isn't a breed - it's a colour pattern of cats.  And though it's not very common for this colouration to show up in males he's not a "rare breed" he's just an affectionate cat.  Are you sure his colour is really calico?  Can you post some pics?

  5. If he's got tabby striping, that does not count as 2 separate colors.  Calico is black, white, orange, and can only happen to a male if he has Kleinefelter's syndrome: XXY s*x chromosomes.  As for the cuddling, that's very normal for any cat ot do.

  6. A male Calico? That is very unusual.

Many cats like to be close to their owners. They like the warmth and, of course, the love.

  7. If your cat is a male calico it's a very rare cat. as far as it sleeping next to you all night or most the night it's not unusual. I have four that like to take over my bed around 10pm and sleep near or next to me all night. Hummm I wonder why i don't have a boy friend or husband? Any way I found a website that you might find interesting about your cat and here is the link: http://www.apetsblog.com/pets-journal/ca...  Enjoy your little friend :o)
