I really want to get another male but will they kill each other? Or will it be okay? I mean at petco where I got him they housed a few males together but the guy said it wasn't a good idea. Was he just covering his *** for will I be okay with two males?

  1. Two male leopard geckos cannot be housed together because it may result in them fighting and possible one or both of them being killed.  I don't think you need a playmate for your male.  Leopard geckos are usually just solitary animals unless you want them to mate.

  2. being naturally solitary i dont think he needs a 'play mate'

    males should NEVER be mixed.

just handle him if you think he is lonely though i assure you he wont be

  3. dont risk it hun you would be sad if one dies and out $35

  4. no dont house 2 males together period

  5. no 2 males will definitly fight. i wouldnt reccomend it.

  6. No, it is not a good idea to house two males together. As leopard geckos get older they get very territorial to other males. The only reason why pet stores can do that is because the geckos are not old enough to be very territorial. Once they get old enough they will fight.

  7. No, under no circumstances should you house two males together. Male Leopard geckos are highly territorial towards other, they will fight, even to the death. If you were to get a female, babies are inevitable. Leopard Geckos are solitary creatures, although they tolerate eachothers company they do not crave companionship. They live solitary lives quite happily.

All that is required to keep their lives interesting is gentle handling for several minutes a day on a daily basis.

  8. No, you can't house two males together.  Pet store people usually do not know what they are talking about and frequently give really bad info.  Your gecko is much happier alone, which is natural for them.  They do not need anyone to "play" with...other geckos, even females, will be seen as competition for the best heat and food.

  9. I would just get the female. If they breed its a potential profit or potential geckos for your friends right?
