I also want to move states to do it. What is the best way to secure my license or do I need one? I already substitute in our school district but where I want to move to there isn't a college to go to for a degree in education.

  1. Utah is hungry for math teachers.  A district can hire you and you will then have 3 yrs to complete the necessary education classes at any state university or on Western Governor's University on-line.

If Utah is not your chosen destination, check with the ed officials where you do want to go and see if they accept the ed credentials from WGU.  I know several teachers who have enjoyed being able to do their work at their convenience.

Warning -  even though many math and science teachers are now given bonuses and such, the pay rate in Utah is lower than most other states.
