I have a maytag mdb4000aww

Question

I have a maytag mdb4000aww dish washer. The dishes aren't getting consistently clean. I wanted to clean the trap/filter. There's two ports towards the front side. The one on the right i was able to remove and clean. The one on the left moves up and down but i can't seem to be able to remove it (without breaking it). Any advice?Thanks
