Let them know that you understand you haven't been doing your job to the right standards.

NO begging to keep your job.

Figure out a list of things that you can do to help yourself better yourself for this job.

Be calm and respectful but also know when to speak out.

Don't arrgue with the people.

Do not defend yourself to readily.

Explain why you are important to the company give details.... If you do get laid off its not the end of the world

Maybe it is because you can not spell.

I would be honest but frank and respectful and try for a probation period and then be a model employee.  Now if you have done something illegal or violated company policy big-time, your cause may be lost.

Good luck....BUT do you want to work for a company that wants to fire you?
