I have a memorex dvd-r. why can't i record on it?..i have a sony dvd+rw and i can record on it.?

  1. DVD-r can only be recorded on once. You can record on a sony dvd+rw because rw means rewritable. With dvd rw, you can erase what's on the disc and put something else but dvd -r you can't.
