I have a message and comment link on my myspace......?

I used this code:

<a href="LINK HERE" target="Self">cmt.</a>

<a href="LINK HERE" target="Self">msg.</a>

how do I make it so it just changes the url address, not pops up another web page?

i use &lt;a href=&quot;linkhere&quot;&gt;Comment&lt;/a&gt;

and the same thing for the message and it just changes the URL :)
