neighbor told me the person live above me is feeding the mice. Will that make my situation worse. I saw one yesterday morning when I went inside my bedroom & it jump down from the bed & ran. I had young children & pet. I don't want them to get bite. I also want to know if the bldg I'm living in is an older bldg will that attract rodents some people told me yes. I just want to know. I'm planning to move in 2 months. I need to know what to do in the meantime.

  1. get a snake.  The smell of a snake will scare them

  2. Good thing you are moving.  You'll never get rid of them in an apartment.  The best thing to do, since you have a pet, is to buy bait packs but put them in a place where the kids and pet can't reach them.  Throw one behind the fridge, one under the stove, one under the kitchen sink, under the bathroom sink (hopefully your sinks are in cabinets???)  Places like that, were only the mouse can get to them.

Check them frequently and keep replacing them.   Traps are not practical here, and glue boards are not either.  Bait is your best bet, but be safe.  P.S.  You can also make a little bait box to put the bait in....  Take a small plastic bowl with a lid, or something like that, and cut a small hole in the side.  Put the bait in it.  When you see that the bait has been eaten, replace it.

  3. Always maintain a clean surroundings and be sure that there are no old newspapers or papers stored in cabinets that you may not be frequently using. These would be a good breeding place for them and they like papers as their bedding materials. Buy a sticky paper that are specifically made as mice bait.

Or you may want to have a cat.

  4. If you have holes in the wall..near a window or a door..stuff steel wool in there. Mice cant chew through it because it'll cut them. That'll prevent them from coming in your apartment. Plus I would notify my landlord if I were you. I think your landlord should know that your upstairs neighbor are practically inviting rodents to destroy his apartments.

  5. Contact your landlord, and tell him about it. If he has a contract for pest control, they will send someone out with poison right away. He would be interested in knowing which tenant is feeding mice, unless that tenant has a caged pet mouse.

  6. Get a cat (and don't declaw it)

the cat will take care of them too!

    or mouse traps..

does anyone know if alka selter works? (it will kill sea gulls) the bubbles expand in the stomach

  7. Use Eagle 7 that is the best. You can put it behind a waste basket, furniture ect. when they get water, they die and shrivel up.no smell.

  8. buy some mice traps.put some peanut butter in them and place them around your apt.that should catch a few of them.and yes if the neighbor upstairs is feeding the mice of course your going to attract more.
