I woke up this morning with a migraine and within 20 minutes I started throwing up. Every 5 minutes since then I am throwing up. By now there is nothing left in my system so I'm throwing up but nothing is coming out? Every time I throw up my migraine gets worse!!?? I can't find my thermometer, but I'm pretty sure I have a temp over 100.

Please tell me what to do! I can't keep food down, but I'm sooo hungry!

Any home remedies other than putting a wet washcloth over my head?

  1. ok i sometimes get migraines but not this bad. i usually take about 2 asprin pain relievers that helps and drink peppermint tea that also helps me. dont whatch tv or play video games or read it only makes it  worse. feel better brah

  2. Call 911 and go to the emergency room.

In the larger scheme, stop eating refined sugars, artifical sweeteners, sweets and caffeine. No sugar, honey, nutrasweet, no desserts. Get your sugar from fresh fruit. Quit caffeine. You may have a transition period of a few headaches but the headaches will go away once you clean the poison out of your body.

Eat fresh natural foods, avoid packaged foods.

  3. I've had a couple stomach viruses that cause me to wake up with a headache and throw up frequently as you have mentioned.  I went to the hospital both times, but all they did was put an IV in me.  Actually the fist time they ran all these tests on me and couldn't figure out what was wrong.  Finally they said I had ulcers in my esophagus but that was most likely from throwing up so much.

For now, I would drink a lot of water.  Even though you will throw it up, it will save your throat from a lot of pain later (and hopefully save it from ulcers).  It will feel wierd just throwing up water, but I doubt you will be able to keep food down just yet.  Wait an hour and see if you're vomitting becomes less frequent.  If it does, then try to eat some foods without acid in them, like oatmeal, chicken soup with crackers, etc.  Eat a little bit at a time in case you end up throwing it up.  If it doesn't calm down in 2-3 hours, I would see a doctor.

  4. This does not sound like something that should be treated at home! A Mirgraine is nothing to mess around with- you should call your doctor immedietly. You may need a CAT scan to rule out a more serious problem.

In the meantime- sip on a glass of water and try to keep your eyes closed!

  5. Take a Gravol for the vomiting. Half an hour after that, start drinking some water (Gatorade is better). But only take small sips. Dehydrating is going to make it worse.

You can take an Excedrin once you stop vomiting, and then use a cool cloth on your forehead to help with the pain.

Just keep resting in a dark, quiet room. If you still have a migraine in a day, see your doctor.
