I have a minidv sony camera and i am wanting to transfer the mini tape to my computer, what do i need for my ?

u need a firewire device....it's a device that u install inside the unit,& it has usb cable with which the camera connect. u can find it easily & buy it..& it's easy to install (normally under the sound card).

& u need a video editting software (sony vegas,ulead.v.s...etc) to record from tape to computer.

PS:once ur camera is detected,the software usually is gonna ask u if u wanna record sth...& here u go.

You'll need to capture the video via firewire - if your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.

Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker (it should already be on your PC).
