I have a misprinted five dollar bill for 2008 ,but is dated 2006. I have heard it is worth more?

  1. It's not a misprint.  The date on a treasury note (technical term for "bill") is the SERIES date (i.e., the date of the most recent major revision to the bill), not the date the note was printed.  The most recent series of five dollar bills is Series 2006, so this is exactly what one would expect a five dollar bill printed in 2008 to say.


  2. Contact an auction company. It may be worth a lot more than $5 to a collector

  3. It probably just had part of the 8 scratched off somehow and now looks like a 6....still worth $5
