I have some "uninvited visitors". How do I get rid of them without killing or hurting them? Thanks.

  1. to get rid of a mouse is something, to get of mice is another. Esp if you do not want to hurt them...

Apart from white mouse, all species are contaminated with pest..so you might wish to think over it again...not to say their p**p smells, they dig in hole, eat a bit of everything...they stink too, frighten you in middle of the night, if you happen to freighten them, they bite!

1.A good way is to get a tamed hunting cat for a while to frighten them and let them go...

2.Trapping them aint a good idea as it takes days for one mouse to sneak in, and mind you they remember things. If a mouse watches his buddy get caught, he will be careful not to step into the little house again unless the cheese is oversized n runs him nuts...(am experienced)

3.To exterminate them is simple, if you dont have kids a thome, use the killing traps or macaroni drugs.

    4. There is also, something like naphtaleine but for rats. They repel them and chase them away.not very effective though and they scent the house funny!

  2. You need ore than good luck. Mice a dangerous when caught I know I was bitten by one. The best way is to use a mouse trap. There is always more that come along

  3. I have experienced the same thing before, and I also, do not

like killing them, or any living thing. You must do a ritual that involves doing a complete clean up, and I mean scruptulous

clean up. If you can purchase Peppermint oil @ the health food store, or even online, do it. Then wipe your whol;e kitchen and elsewhere down with it after cleaning, as they surely dislike that smell. (they also hate bleach!) The last time I seen one in my house, it was under the frig, and that

is nearby where I would leave my cats food dish out.  No more, as I now keep the cat food covered, and come feeding time I uncover it, for the time it takes my cat to eat.

I also did a clean up like no other, and never leave any crumbs around, nor dishes, etc. and I have never seen it

or any other mouse around since. But I also stick to that

ritual each and every day, never leaving anything out.

I do not know whether others will agree, but this routine has

worked for me, and I do not mind always having a super clean kitchen and house! (without any mice!) Good luck!

  4. First, locate their food source.  Do you have pets?  Are their food bowls open to mice?  If yes to both, see my answer to mrs nevz.

Open every drawer and lower-level cupboard in your kitchen to check for droppings.  Transfer your food to the upper (wall) cupboards, and move all non-edibles below.

Pet food or other food in your garage?  Put it in plastic tub-lid containers or trash cans with covers.  Big-box stores (Wal-Mart, Target, etc) carry these, cheap.

Once you eliminate the food sources, the mice will be hungry.  Get some live mouse traps.  The best is the "Smart Mouse Trap," but it costs $30 (see link).  Victor makes cheap ones (see link).  You can order direct from Victor, or check hardware stores in your area.  Buy more than one if you can; mice get "trap shy" quickly.

Bait with peanut butter.  Organic is best, low-fat worst.

Release them at least 50 miles from your house.  Think they'll never return from that far away?  Ha ha.  Just try red fingernail polish.  Before you release the critters, place a little red fingernail polish on the mouse's body.  You can then tell if you catch the same mouse twice.

  5. I will say right now that there is a reason there are mice in your home. Either you've left food out, you have a pet or something. You've most likely created an environment where the mice will thrive in.

Not only is it dangerous to have mice in your home (they carry disease, their urine is a corrosive and they gnaw wood to keep their teeth from overgrowing) but having a few can usually mean there is a large nest hidden somewhere near by.

If you want to rid yourself of them in a humane way, contact any pest control agency and ask if they offer no-kill pest removal for rodents. If they don't, ask if they know someone who does.

Mouse traps are cruel things, indeed, the mouse you catch may die instantly or suffer for days before it does eventually die.

You can also try repellents to keep the pests away. To protect yourself, family, friends and pets, make sure to use an eco-friendly alternative when using pest control products. They're better for everyone!

  6. Well, usually they stay under stoves (if possible) and you need to get a little cage, and put food in it. And keep an eye on it, and watch for them to go in the cage, GOOD LUCK

  7. hi, get some rat / mouse bait  from you supermarket, then put it where the nest is?  being careful about dogs/cat and other animals  can't  the get  the bait cause it's poision.

check the box on how to use the bait  before using the bait?

check the blocks/bait/sacets in 2 weeks? then replace the blocks/bait/sachets in another 2 weeks, or look on the box on how  to use the blocks/bait/sachets.
