i had the same problem, hope, this will help. if your lawn mower under the carbrator has a bowel looking shape remove it carefully should have a hex bolt under it. once removed,clean bowel. and place back carefully. should work. mines did. good luck.

This is a common problem with small engines.  The most likely cause is the carburetor.  They have very small passages and when fuel is left sitting in them they get plugged.  The fix would be to remove and clean the carburetor and put it together with a rebuild kit.
