  1. Try presoaking them in a large tupperware container with alot of detergent overnight

  2. I have that same problem!

  3. hang them outside for some fresh air and some sun.

  4. Are you making sure they're bone dry before you bring them in off the line? If they're the tiniest bit damp when you put them in the cupboard they'll smell

  5. Boil them on the stove to remove old detergents that are trapping in odor.

  6. I also have this problem, I have run my washing machine on a wash cycle with disinfectant in and no clothes etc.  Still not making any difference.  It only seems to happen with towels.  I usually dry them in the tumble dryer, but tried them outside last week, no difference.  Maybe they need replacing.

  7. Wash them on hot with baking soda.

Add fabric softener to final rinse cycle.

    Dryer sheet to dryer.

  8. That happens to my towels whenever my dad washes them,  but not with my mother.. so i would say its the cleaning style, not the cleaning product.

  9. is the smell on there as soon as they are dry or when they come out of the linen closet....if it is the first then everyone else has some great ideas about it but if it is the latter then you need to clean and air out your linen closet...possibly check for dampness on the floor especially if it is carpeted....place an air freshener, a piece of charcoal, or a box of baking soda in the top corner....ours do the same thing from time to time.....also you could try running your washer empty with a little vinegar to see if maybe your washer just needs to be cleaned

  10. Wash them with a new detergent and use some fabric softener or just buy some new towels.

  11. get new ones

  12. wash them 1 time without detergent and if they still smell wash them a second time with detergent and lots of it get some shout and spray the towels then use 2 cups of detergent and little of some bleach.

that should take care of those towels if not then buy some new 1s

  13. Sounds like the water or the dryer wasn't hot enough, or you took them from the dryer before they were dry (or the moisture condensed on the towels coming home from the laundry).

  14. Add a little vinegar in the wash cycle.

  15. It sounds like they aren't drying completely.  Put them in the dryer for longer.  Make sure you are storing them in a cool, cry place.

  16. I had to stop buying colored towels...This is common. Buy white towels, wash in HOT water, set washer to rinse twice, use plenty of bleach, and make sure they are all the way dry before putting away. I promise this will solve your problem.....Also, after you shower you should hang on a towel bar so it can dry out better. Dont use a hook where the towel stays all bunched up. Good luck!

  17. Are they dried completely?  When you use them, are they getting enough air to dry them?

You could try some vinegar in the wash with your normal laundry soap.

  18. The cheapest way is to put a dab of bleach in the wash water.  Not very much!!  You don't want to bleach anything, just sanitize.
