I have a Multiple-Entry visa which is valid until january 2009, I will be travelling to Guangzhou on 28/8, I have a hotel booking and flight (also return flight) and a copy of my letter of invitation (it's not in Chinese though)...Will they let me board the plane? Is there anything else I need? I am visiting Guangzhou for personal reasons, not as a business trip and as far as I know the Olympics end at 24/8.

  1. Please do not take the above guys information as the gospel.  Due to the time you are coming, it is still in the "Olympics Window" and you will need to show proof of return flight home and hotel booking.  Since you said you have a letter of invitation, I assume you are on a F Business Visa.  You have everything squared away though, so you should not have any problems.

  2. You have a visa. You can just go. You don't need to have a return ticket or hotel booking or invitation. That you need only to apply a visa - but you have one already.

  3. Boarding the plane is seldom a problem. It's arriving and going through customs in China when issues can arise. Sounds like you have all of the documentation necessary. My only suggestion is when asked the purpose of your visit, you should answer "tourist" not personal reasons since that may trigger further questioning.

  4. You have a valid visa and passport, with a hotel reservation, you will not have any problems getting on the plane or through customs in China.

They read English and do not expect your documents to be in their language.
