I'm 17 and go golfing once a week, I have good swing speed and make good contact except I have a terrible fade even slice sometimes that takes away all my power.

I was wondering which driver would be better for me the burner draw stiff or the burner stiff???

Any info about either driver would help. like whats the normal handicap for golfers that use each club.

THANKS

  1. i had a similar problem. i hit big cuts and it nearly made me quite the game. i got a few lessons and i hit it straight as now.

i have the Taylormade burner and its a great driver. go 4 that.

it is better to get a lesson to help with your cut than to buy a driver to allow 4 it.

my specs. 9.5 degrees stiff shaft. hit it 270 to 300m

  2. Better yet why don't you get a lesson or two get videotaped and fix your swing flaw instead of buying a club that is just going to mask your flaw , fix the problem and learn to hit a fade or draw at will with a regular club.

    Good Luck.

  3. I would suggest that you fix your fade/slice before you buy a new driver. I have a Callaway Fusion FT3, I've had it for about three years and find it really good.

    Have a good one...

  4. Hi

It;s not a new driver you require but some golf lessons, a 300 dollar driver plus buys alot of lessons . If you slice or fade it is because you come out to in ,no new driver will stop your out to in path only lessons a new driver with draw bias will result in 20 yards OB instead of 30 OB .But they are both OB.

ps I am a golf coach and see people all the time thinking that a draw bias driver will fix there slice have not seen a success yet with that method. Lessons work.

  5. No driver is going to fix the problem you describe.

You have a swing path issue possibly combined with a release issue (which may be caused by many factors).

Obviously you come across the ball which results in a glancing blow.  A draw favored driver will still come across the ball with a glancing blow - it will not increase your distance and may only slightly (at best) help your direction.

Save the money on the new club and spend it on 5 golf lessons from a PGA Pro.  Maybe the store has lessons or save the store credit for a driver after you fix your swing.

Honestly, if you go out and get the driver now, you will be disappointed with the results.

  6. Your fade or slice is caused by your swing path.  The best long term solution to fixing this is go get a lesson.  A good golf pro will teach you how to change your golf swing from coming through the ball from the "outside" to "inside".  Your swing is off plane and creating left to right spin  if your right handed which causes our ball to move left to right.  This is also a very weak shot and produces less distance with all clubs.  The opposite spin creates a draw or hook if the spin is more pronounced.  A ball that draws is more penetrating and carries farther i.e. more distance.

  7. burner draw it will make your drive straight because the face fixes your fade.
