He doesn't work, yells and cusses at his wife inside their house so loud that I can hear when I'm in mine, speeds up and down the street, sometimes he sits in his front yard and yells at the cars passing by. He has a beer in his hand at 9am.

I talk to his wife (who is not a drunk or anything like that) sometimes and she says he throws things at her like, the remote, dishes, etc. She doesn't call the police! She works full-time and when she gets home after 5pm, its non-stop til he passes out.

He was recently in jail for yelling or something at another neighbor (don't know exact details) and I know he has a warrant, cause he didn't show up to court concerning that case.

Anyways, what would happen if I said all this to the police? would they do anything about it? I know his wife won't call and would calling the cops when he's yelling but doesn't hit her-would they do anything to him? I live in California...Sorry this is super long. I'm just frustrated cause I see & hear the guy everyday. I don't like taking my girls outside to play when he's out there.

  1. I dont think the cops would do much about this except for maybe fine him for disturbing the peace

  2. You can ask the police to talk to him, and they will, but unless his wife files charges, their options are limited.

If you can get video of him on the street, they can use that for charges of public nuisance or drunk and disorderly, a few of them will get him some cell time.
