I have a netgear mpbs wireless access point WG602 and need to secure it can someone give me step by step?

  1. Log into the access point. Find where wireless settings are (perhaps advanced settings), and where it talks about Mac Filtering. Tell it to only allow access to these Mac addresses. Put in the Mac addresses of the machines you want to be able to access the AP from.

    Get your mac address by going pressing your Windows Logo Key + R to get the run box. Type: cmd

    when the command prompt comes up, type ipconfig /all

    Under your wireless connection, you'll see a Mac address - something like 00-08-fa-e1-00 or something. Do that on each wireless device you want to access the wireless AP.

    The safest "password" protection for the AP would be WPA2, but depends on how old your system is as to whether or not it will be able to access with that security method.

    Mac Filtering will work on anything
