I just can't find the spot to put the other end of the cord attached to the camera in. stupid? of course lol...but i can't find it. I had one before, but this is a new computer and i hadn't used the camera in so long I forgot where to put the other end. of the cord. I can't find my dell manual naturally. If someone could just tell me where to look i'll find it. Thanks much

  1. If it's a mini DV camcorder, you'll probably need a firewire card. I have a Sony Handycam and a Dell laptop. I had to get a firewire card to put in the computer, and then the firewire cable goes into the card. Let me know if you have anymore questions and I hope I kind of helped.

  2. You are looking for the USB connector on your computer - on laptops, they can be on either side of the keyboard or the back. On towers, rear or front, on desktop/all-in-ones left or right. There may even be a USB connection on the keyboard, but there may be a power issue (not enough) so using the ports on the computer is better. That camera came with a USB cable.

That camera also came with an AV cable - chances are good that your computer does not have AV-in (yellow, red, white RCA jacks).

To transfer videos, you probably want to get a card reader, take the memory card out of the camera and use the card reader to transfer...
