The machine started to make strange louder than usual noises and then seemed to get jammed. I have change the threading several times and have also changed the string in the bobbin. None of this fixed the problem. The problem seems to be coming from the bobbin case -- it does not stay in place. It will fall into place but does not stay firmly set in the holding area. When I start to sew, the bobbin immediately goes off track and then gets jammed.

  1. I just got the Inspiration 4228 and the bobbin case jams and does not stay in place at all. I am going crazy. I have a lot of sewing to do. If I find any solutions I will be sure to let everyone know. I am glad I am not the only one.

  2. Mine does the same thing.  :(  My 20-year-old machine works like a charm, but this new one was supposed to be for my daughter to use.  It's very unreliable.

  3. Where did you get another cover?  MIne came loose on a move and disappeared.

  4. I need to add to this!  I purchased an Inspiration 4206.  My bobbin case broke within the first month.  The plastic broke.  It took me forever to get a new casing and so I decided to buy 2!  I am now trying right this minute to sew and have used the manual and installed the casing just like they say by sliding back the little metal arm that is supposed to keep it in place.  When I sew, it sloshes all around, lets me sew for awhile and then gets all jammed up.  All of the tabs are tucked where they say they should be.  What is the problem????????Can anyone help?

  5. Get a nice apple sit down and enjoy the sweetness.  I had the same problem.  The problem is the bobbin case.  It took me hours to solve.  Remove the bobbin and then the bobbin case.  Look at the edging where the thread makes contact with the bobbin case.  If your notice a small amount of excess mold casting remove that and make smooth with fine sand paper then wax the sanded area.  If the bobbin still jams recheck.  If it still jams sand down some of the lobe where the thread hops over the case as it is nearest you then wax again.  The surface on my bobbin case was minutely ruff of uneven.  Then you can get back to sewing.  That was frustrating.  I had just bought my first sewing machine and the bobbin case jammed and broke so I bought a new bobbin case for 20.00 bucks and the it jammed again.  But now I am on may sewing motion again.  Bye.
