1080 x 1440? is something wrong as on the camera it says I'm recording in Full HD.Further whilst viewing on my laptop the videos its not as fluent as i expected the motion to be.I have windows XP on an Acer 1690 with a intel pentium M processor 740 and ATI Mobility Radeon X700

  1. what is recorded on DVD is down sampled from the CCD, so it is indeed interpolated 1080x1440 that is recorded at the HD setting. All MPEG2 codecs suffer from motion artifacts, after all it is temporal compression that allows the video data rate to be reduced. It is a trade-off. If it is fluid motion that you need, stick with miniDV for now, that has no temporal compression.
