I have a new burner three wood and im pulling it lt and toppping it. What am i doing wrong???

  1. Try choking up or down, having the ball more forward or back in your stance. The first time you get new clubs you have to work around with them so you can start hitting them well and it feels right.


  2. check your stance and ball position.  a pull/top usually means your playing the ball too far back in your stance.  try aligning the ball more off your left heel and swing down on the ball.  the burner has the face and loft that you dont need to sweep it like a driver.

  3. Well since I assume you didn't pull and top your old three wood, it must be the club.  Take it back and get one that isn't defective.  Every problem nowadays can be solved by new equipment.

  4. It happens with new clubs- you are afraid to hit the ground and "hurt" your brand new club so you try to hit it just perfect and end up topping the ball and pulling off it.  

    It happens to almost all golfers when we get new clubs...
