I have a new guine pig and my old guinepig is being very over protective/territotyal.

how can i help my old guine pig get used to my new one?

Put the new one in a different, smaller cage. Every day outside of the cage, let them spend some time together. Do this for a few days, or weeks, if it does not work immediately. Then the old guinea pig will see the new one moving in as "Oh, my friend is staying with me!" Instead of "who the h**l is this?"
