I really don't even know where to start. Do I need a rototiller? I would like to put in desert landscaping (I live in southern Arizona). Any help is much appreciated.

  2. My son just moved to Casa Grande and he was faced with the same challenge.  What he did, I would not recommend.  He sprayed his entire backyard with weed killer and then bought yards and yards of pepples from Pioneer Stone. So the entire backyard is a sea of stone.  Carefree but boring!  I suggested that he at least put in a water feature (like a cool, contemporary water fountain) but he said that it would be full of algae within 24 hours.  There are chemical algaecides, I told him.

  3. Spray it all with roundup until anything is dead.  Put whatever flower beds in that you are going to put in.   Then rototill the rest and sow the grass seed.
