I have a new laptop. is it possible to migrate my yahoo & skype chat histories from my old laptop? how?

Yes.

I have done it before and I'm happy that what I have discover.

For the yahoo! messenger.

Go toC:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles\(your username in Yahoo! messenger)\Archive

Under Archieve, you will see conferences(if you have joined conference) and Messages.You just need to copy this two and back-up it in a flash drive. On your new laptop, copy this two directory same as where it is located in the previous directory. All your chat messages will be copied to your laptop.If you want to be sure, back-up the whole Yahoo! directory in Program Files.

In Skype, I'm not so sure because I'm not using it. But just try what you have did in Yahoo! messenger.
