  1. Check your pH, TA,Cl and salinity once a week. Clean out the cell once a month. Have your stabilizer levels checked at least twice in a season. The rest of your maintenance will depend on what other types of equipment you have ( heater etc). For that you'll need to refer to your manuals.


  2. Make sure you have the recommended amount of stabilizer in the water most maker suggest 50-70ppm.

    Keep an eye on your pH, over time it will increase due to the chlorine produced by the cell.

    I would not recommend cleaning the cell out unless it needs it and follow the makers instructions when doing so.

    Beware of the Low Salt Light. Use a salinity indication test, strips or whatever.  Check salinity before adding more salt. Many low salt lights come on and the correct fix is to acid wash the unit not add more salt.

    You can minimize your calcium additions to your pool water by avoiding calcium hypochlorite, bagged shock or tablets since they are 1/2 calcium by weight!
