Anyone that has had a type of Vundo before will know that they are a pain, however none of the security software can seem to fix this one. It may be a new type :-(

I've installed just about all that I know and none of them can find anything. I've installed:

- Symantec Anti-Virus

- AVG Anti-Virus

- Spybot S&D

- Adaware

I have even tried two special user made programs made just for removing the Vundo type viruses, and still - nothing!

Nothing is picking it up! Although Spybot did detect two "dll"'s but that was it, I still have my problems.

The Vundo viruses apparently hijack your browser, display pop ups and download more viruses - I am getting all this!

This only thing that is really bugging me about this is that when I am not in safe more, my Windows Vista blue screens (it has only started this since i got the virus)

In safe mode with networking, the browser still gets redirected, leaving me to believe that its running in safe mode too!

This would mean that is has replaced a system file - explaining the blue screens!

Sorry for the long explanation...

P.S.

I want advice on new programs I could try to remove it with, or anything else that might help.

Please just DONT tell me to format my PC as this is out of the question!

Repair also does not work as I have tried...

Thanks

If you think you can help me, feel free to add me on MSN, my Addy is feneck@hotmail.com

thanks

  1. Try to download the trial version of kaspersky anitvirus 2009, they also offer free virus scan online.

  2. I would suggest that you get Avast. It is free for personal use.

Yesterday, my free anti-virus caught a trojan virus.

To ensure that the virus caught is not a false positive, I upload it to virus total web site to check.

    http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/c3558...

To my surprise, all the big names in Anti-virus industry cannot detect the trojan. The one that detect the trojan are mainly the free version.

Avast boot scan in Windows safe mode is the most effective way to get rid of stubborn trojans and viruses that keep coming back to haunt you.

These trojan and viruses hide themselves in system restore folder and many anti-virus programs cannot get rid of them. So whenever, you restart your PC,

the viruses are restore back by WIndows.

Avast boot scan help to get rid of them in the system restore folders and ensure your system are clean.
