I have a night job. I work from 7pm to 7am. I have been on that shift for about 6 months now. I find that even on my days off I sleep during the day and stay up all night. I really don't converse with friends and family as much as I used to because I have a different schedule than everyone else. I find myself on YA a little too much because I am up all night. Do you think working nights is healthy? Physically and Emotionally?

  1. I am not sure whether it is healthy or not but I will say that you are not missing anything by not interfacing with people.  People are all scumbags anyway.

  2. Physically, I don't think it matters. Your body will adjust to sleep when it needs it.

Emotionally, I don't think it is healty - for many of the reasons you listed. Human contact (not just online social) is one of the most important things.

  3. No, I don't think working on nights is healthy at all since you become too used to staying up at night and sleeping during the day time, which cuts off you from socializing with your family and friends.

My dad used to work during the night several times a week, and because of that I never really got to see much of him at all.  All he did was go to work, eat, sleep, and use his computer, while growing fat all the while.  I mean, sure he paid for the bills and stuff, but that's basically all he did.  That's going to be you.
