I have a old technics SL-5 linear tracking turn table it will start to play fine then start skipping?

Iaccross the LP I have replace the sylus and tried adjusting the arm wieght with no luck any suggestions would be welcome. I like it to much to get rid of it.

Try cleaning your slide bar really well. 0000 steel wool is good. Stylus pressure is usually 5 grams. Is that what you've weighted to? Any more and you'll damage records. Any less and it will skip.
