I have a panasonic D-snap sv av50 and i cant play the video.It says i need a codec.cant find one.please help.?

I have downloaded the big pack codec for windows...that dont work...i downloaded some other codec and that one will play the sound but not the pic...anyone out there know where to go from here?It asks for the serial number at the panasonic site for downloads or else i have to purchase it.I do not want to have to pay for it.Thanks so much.Very frustrated.Its been over 4years and i cannot veiw my videos

That camcorder records the video in some form of MPEG-4 - you should be able to play it with the VLC player.
