I have a panasonic video camera with tape recording (not cd). How do I tranfer the recordings to my HP VISTA?

  1. Check with Panasonic support for your camcorders compatibility with Vista!!


  2. you should have received an AV/S output cable w/ the camera.  in order to connect it to your PC you would require some type of video input compatible with composite or s-video signaling.  usually a TV tuner card.

    if you can get the DVDs recognized in the computers DVD-ROM drive (provided it does have one) you can copy the videos directly off of the disc.

    If it is a DVD-RAM and you can browse the disc w/ your computer you will find a DVD-RTAV directory and copy the VRO files to your hard drive and rename them to MPG.

    If it's any other type you will see VIDEO_TS directory and copy the VOB files and do the same.
