I have a pellet stove that requires high temp turbine gear oil. is there another name or something for it?

can i get it at my local auto part or hardware stores?

  1. Just figure the temp it works at and get a synthetic gear oil.  From walmart or any parts store.

  2. hydrolic oil may be of the same type. Usually from what Ive seen turbine oil is lighter than gear oil. But gear oil has a distinct smell if you can open it and get a whiff (not trying to poisen you or be funny) of the gear box and then if it has a smell like the gear oil at walmart its about the same thing. If it dosnt have much of an oder is the turbine oil That is verry similar to hydrolic oil and is a lot lighter than gear oil. If you can get a drop of it on a white index card and take it with you for a sample and find an open bottle of oil you can compaire it to. A tractor or small engine repair shop may have some open containers and may be able to help you idenitify closer what you need.
