I have a pet rat and she as a bitting problem?

hi im 13 i know rat are nice but i have a promblem i have a pet rat called gizmo beacuse he looks like gizmo from the film grimlins

any way gizmo means the world to me but she has a bit of a bitting going on beewten me she never did when i first got her is her a way of making her stop bitting me ps we have 4 rats as well and they dont bit please help

well dont put your fingers i the bars as that encourages them to bite, but alot of the time its because they are not very happy or that is just their personality

How hard is gizmo biting?

I have 3 girls and I love them to death. My girls have bonded with me so well that they groom and nibble my fingers and hand and stuff.

Make sure you wash your hands before you play with Gizmo, maybe your hands smell like food.

yes...rats tend to bite cause they are unhappy...let her explore...give her treats

She might be unhappy? Let her out more often.. Or she might have hurt herself, is it when you touch her she bites?

if she just started biting now and didn't when you first got her and you know that your fingers don't smell like food, she could be sick. she might be in pain or have a tumor. i had a rattie who started biting out of nowhere one day and i felt her up and she had a tumor. so try to feel for bumps or cuts that may be bothering her.
