  1. The speedo drive is located at the back of the gearbox. If it is cable drive, there is a cable running up and through the firewall, but it is probably electronic so there will be a sensor with a couple of wires. check the fuses as a first step as the electronic one does require power to the sensor to work.

Be careful if you pull the speedo drive out as oil will leak out, and you need to top it back up again.

  2. HA HA HA.

The speedometer in a 206 is electronic and there is NO cable coming from the gearbox.

This is a well known problem of the 206.  An expensive replacement is your solution.

  3. Again Trevor is correct. The speedo on 206 is electronic, so it doesn't use a cable. You'll need to replace the whole speedo (instrument cluster). You can find the on ebay for a reasonable price.

I had a 206 that has speedo with misreadings, I just change the speedo for another one found on ebay's and the problem was solved. Keep in mind that when you do that your mileage will change for the one that the speedo have. If you don't want that and you're a bit handy, just swap the speedo motor inside the cluster with another one (on Ebay's) and your mileage will remains.

    Cheers!
