  1. Have you spoken to them about it?

In some cities, you are not allowed to plant trees within a certain distance from the lease line.  In other cities, yes, you can chop off the side that hangs over your yard.

I know how you feel.  Pine trees are a pain in the hiney with all those needles.  Check with your local town hall and find out what your options are.

Another option is to offer to pay half of the tree removal and a tree replacement with them.  We offered this to our neighbor and he was cool.  We ripped out this nasty tree that was leaking sap and attracting hornets and replaced it with a beautiful tree that doesn't shed much and is much nicer.

  2. Yes, If it is on your property you can do as you wish. I would just ask them nicely about it first so there are no hard feelings involved.

  3. yes you can! but it is always easier and may prevent hard feelings if you talk it over with your neighbour.

  4. Whip out the chainsaw on that bad boy, because YES you can chop off what is hanging on your property.

  5. YES, BUT IF I WERE YOU, I'D PEEL BACK THE BARK AROUND THE WHOLE TREE ABOUT AN INCH SO IT DIES....HE HE HE

  6. Yes you can.  Anything that overhangs your property is your business.

  7. you CAN trim any branches that over hang your property line BUT you cannot endanger the health of the tree in doing so...if you get carried away with the chainsaw and the tree dies, he can make you pay....

since it's ON the property line, you prob can't take off a whole half of the tree without killing it....

tread lightly here.... what you do can mean the difference between a comfortable life  or misery.....

  8. WOW free mulch! pine neddles  excreet an oil that kills grass. it makes an excelant mulch. breaks down into a sandy loam and keeps weeds out of your flower beds. if you have any. yeah try talking to the neighbor thing first. then chop away.

  9. Ignore all the "yes you can" responses.

They are right, but only to a point.

In my city, you can only cut a certain percentage of the trees branches off.  So, my advice would be to take a digital picture and send it to your local city.  Ask them.
