Cropping needs to be done at an earlier age for proper healing.  All you would accomplish at this age would be shorter, floppy ears.  They won't stand like cropped ears should.

Most vets won't do the ears after 12 weeks. It is much more complicated and risky on older dogs. You will just have to call your local vets and see what they say,

I hate it when people do this stuff.  Its not natural and it hurts the poor thing.  They also cut some dog breed's tails.  Its terrible and its getting worse.  Did you know they have plastic surgery for dogs now????

Ear cropping usually happens when they are around 8 weeks old because the cartilage has not yet fully formed. At 7 months the ear cartilage is much more mature and will likely not shape itself to whatever form you might choose.

of course it will hurt!!  Please don't do that to your dog!  It doesn't matter how old a dog is, if you crop their ears or tail, it's going to hurt them.  Even newborn puppies are capable of feeling pain.  People like to justify the mutilation of their animals by pretending they don't feel it.  This isn't true.  It's comparable to circumcision.  A baby can definitely feel his f******n being removed, he just may not be able to remember it when he gets older. It's the same with animals.  Please don't crop his ears unless you want the dog to lose all trust in you for causing him such excruciating pain.

It will hurt him no matter what, but yes, since he is already so old, I would have to give up on the idea.  He would be in a LOT of unneccessary pain.

Dogs get ears and tails docked within hours they are born because their bones are not fully developed yet and are still soft cartilage.

first i dont think you should crop his ears even if he is a baby. and yes it will hurt him. you are supposed to crop his ears when he is younger so he can't feel it.

2 In EVERY state is it ILLEGAL for anyone who is not a vet to mutilate a dog this way.

3 if this dog is ever even thought to be a fighting dog, he can be euthanized just because you mutilated him this way, it is considered proof in court he is a fighting dog.
