  1. Being that you are asking, I am assuming that there is not a coax cable connection on the television

While not all plasma display monitors are HD, most are, so I am going to assume that also

This can be done multiple ways, but has the same basic principal, first you need a HD QAM digital tuner (assuming you want HD, if not, a VCR should work fine for a while), this could be the set-top box your cable company offers (along with a monthly fee), by using an HD QAM digital tuner available at places like Radio Shack, Best Buy, or any other electrical stores, that sells televisions and television add-ons, or by connecting a computer with an HD QAM digital tuner card installed, using HDMI-to-HDMI with an HDMI video card, or DVI-to-HDMI and using a seprate audio connection, then you would run a program like Windows Media Center and use the tuner from there

The easiest option is to get a set-top box from your cable company, but if you don't want to pay the monthly fee for the box, the next best thing is an HD QAM digital tuner, if you choose to go with the computer, you could also use the computer as a DVR

A QAM tuner is a digital tuner specifically for cable, it's similar to ATSC tuners used for OTA antennas, except for cable instead of antennas

  2. cable box and subscription from your cable provider
