  2. Yes you can. You will also have better luck if it comes from a seed, from your current plum tree. Best of luck on your tree!

  3. No you can't!  Most (including Plum) fruit and nut trees are not true-to-seed!  

    You can grow it out, but it may never fruit.

    However, you should research what type of plum tree you have and whether or not this other plum pit is compatible with the area.  Other things to consider are whether or not your plum tree needs pollination to fruit and if so, what other types of plums are compatible, whether they flower at the same time, etc.
