I have a postal money on it is a post office number how can I find out what post office it is?

on the top of the money order is the serial number then the date of purchase and a post office number

The post office number is the zip code and an  extra number.  Go to usps.com and enter the first five digits of the number and it should bring up the post office where it was purchased.

Here's a site I got off Google for locating a US Post Office. You can try the USPS site as well or get more info from your nearest PO.
