This is the first time any of my fish have had babies if you can help id be so grateful Thanks.

  1. once the mollie has given birth she will go slim without fail it can take up to 24 hours for her to deliver all her babies but if she is in the main tank then the other fish will eat the live babies if they are seen her poo will be  these colours/black,red,orangey yellow, due to her giving birth plus its the flake foods you feed her she can have anything from 5 to 30 babies at one time hope this helps u out and more info feel free to email me good luck

  2. I wouldn't sugest seperating them. babies come so fast and you'll get more and more every month, so Leave them in there and if a few get eaten its no big deal, also Theres a good chance she'll have more...alot more depending on her size. some can have over 30, others have like 10...

  3. The different colored p**p was most likely not p**p at all! It was most likely the placenta breaking.  That's how you saw the one little fish.

In most cases you'll only catch one or two babies, but I believe they can have around 10-30.  The other fish will definately eat the babies as it tastes really good for them.  This is actually best for you and your tank because if every fish survived your tank would be overstocked, fast.

Under rare circustances she could of had that fish early or she could have aborted the rest if the tank became too stressful for her.

The male molly will chase around any female fish because it wants them to be impregnated (possibly again) with him.

Try to get a breeder tank for the baby fish.  You could also put the mom in there incase she is still pregnant and it'll catch all the remaining babies.  Keep the babies in the tank for a month because then they'll be big enough not to get eaten.  Don't keep the mom in the tank for more than 12 hours with them because she will eat them after that amount of time.
