Ok my little brother is 12 and absolutely obsessed with computers; him and I share a laptop during the summer. Last weekend he got pretty upset with me, took the computer and locked himself in his room. The next morning, or Monday of this week, he left for a 2 week long church camp in the mountains....and when I go to log into my account on the laptop, it says that Parental Controls has restricted your time or something; bottom line is, I can't log into my own computer.

anybody know what I can do? I've never had this block on any account of mine so I don't really know what it is....help appreciated.

  1. You cant do anything but get in contact with him and find out what the h**l he did to your computer and see if you will help you. Also when he gets back from church camp beat his little *** lol

  2. oh you have a smartie that house.........that security thing it has been set up in your bios......just reset to the factory default, should do the trick....... if you cant access your bios....just unplug your laptop - then  remove your cmos battery for at least 2min......by doing that is gonna reset all the password.....but be careful do not remove anything else......good luck!

  3. you can change your account info with out logging on.so gust take off the parntal timelimit yhat might work hope this helps

  4. reboot into safe mode  (turn on the PC, and start tapping the F8 key repeatedly until you get a menu allowing you to go into safe mode.)

Log into safe mode as administrator (probably a blank password on most machines)

If you can get in as administrator, go to control panel, and you should be able to change settings for your "normal" user account...  If no, try creating a new account and see if the parental controls "transferred" to the new account.

Do a quick search on support.microsoft.com for resetting parental controls.

  5. This is a common, and quite easy to fix solution once your brother comes back. You see, all parental control files are temporary. they are created and stored in a new file called "system 32". once your brother comes back, have him log on, and erase "system 32" in your c: drive. You will get some customary warning alerts, but do not worry, your computer can function fine without parental controls.

    hope this works

  6. You have separate accounts for your PC?  Which system are you running?  Windows?  Which version?  XP or Vista or what?

He probably set his own account as administrator (you SHOULD have had your account, his account, and a ADMIN account that your parents set up, so if either of you had a fight over the computer, your parents could stop something like this from happening).

One thing you could do is rat him out on your parents (because personally I think what he did was TOTALLY UNCOOL and NOT FAIR in any way).

You somehow need to get into his account and unlock YOUR account from the parental control settings...  or if he is not all that smart, he left access to the parental controls open IN YOUR ACCOUNT too, so try to access them on your account.

Otherwise you need to hack into his, and I don't know anything about hacking, so you wait for someone else' response.

  7. if he has made himself the administrator only he can change the times that you can use the computer :(

  8. A: ur bro tried to get revenge and restricted ur acount some how...

B: if u have windows vista or windows XP, u can download a thing called TRK (trinity rescue kit) in the form of an .iso. an .iso is just an image of a cd so u just burn it to a disc. then u put it in the cd rom, reboot the computer, and follow the instructions. u can use this to bypass his password, then u can use his acount to reset the priviledges on ur account. sorry bout the spellin, writting this fast :)

  9. The real question is, if you're not able to log in the computer, then how are you able to post this question?

  10. Well looks like your brother is pretty smart. If you have windows then this can be solved. Log in safe mode in your computer and change the permissions assigned to you. This may work depending on the parental control set by your brother.

  11. kick your brother's *** when he comes back.
