It's a huge pain to store my used 100.00 surfboard in my apartment so I keep it on my roof racks. The bottom of the board is in the sun pretty much all day.

Any experienced boardsmen out there that can tell me what to expect?

  1. Major delamination.Yellowing and weakening of the integrity of your board's fiberglass coating. Need to take it in with you.

  2. Well, it aint even worth a hundred bucks now! First of all, I want to move where you live. If you left a board on the roof of your car all night, every night, any place I have ever surfed,  I know it wouldn't be there one morning.

Ii will discolor, warp, the glass will tend to delaminate. the foam blank will begin the break down and the stringer will separate. However, you can probably bang the c$#p out of it for the rest of the summer before it fall apart. You could buy a $25. boardsock to keep it out of the UV rays, but heck, that 25% of the total cost.

By the way, what kind of board is it. If it is a BIC popout, you could probably leave it on your roof in the Sahara and it will hold up. They are junk, but they are darn durable junk.

  3. uuummm YA!!!!! it will be unridible in like a week. are you stupid?
