I have a print that is 7 1/2 inches x 10 1/2 inches. What size mat and frame should I go with?

  2. If it is a rare, collectable or expensive piece I would make an effort to get a customized frame. If it is not, just go one size up.

  3. It seems that you have a non-standard size print.  The mat can be thinner or wider depending upon the look you want, but the opening needs to be less than the size of the print. You will be needing a mat opening about  7 x 10 and a frame 9 x 12 or so. Usually the precut mat opening will be 5x7 or 8x10, etc.   I think you will need to have a mat cut to fit your print.   You can request that the outside dimensions of the mat fit in a standard frame so that you don't have to have a custom frame made if you don't want that expense.

  4. They make an 8 x 11 for documents, but I think you would be better off to go up one more size so more of the mat would show and look more appealing.
