I took A-level science at first but now I find it too hard and I'm facing a dilemma. My mum said that if I can pass the exams, then I will just go the whole way. But I feel that its not my type of course. I wanted and decided to do Occupational in Safety and Health for diploma though it will a long time. I quit a levels because I'm a sucker in pure maths. My mum is giving all sorts of experience talk but if I continue to fail in a levels, then I will not find a good university. However,if I take the diploma,I can continue to a degree course and then a master's course in NZ Preston Uni...My mind is all s***w up and I require immediate advice. Somehow,my heart cant handle it and its causing pain.

  1. Give up now and live a happy life. You don't need to be supersmart for everything.

  2. Believe me when I say that if you do bad (grade B or less in my opinion) at A-levels, you will end up in a c**p uni, which in turn will affect your future job prospects....thats whats happened to me anyway and its the biggest regret of my life. Anyway I think you should think long and hard about what you want for yourself in the future, and doing a subject you find too hard or boring will limit how well you succeed at it...you could maybe consider finishing your AS levels and if the grades are not satisfactory or high enough to enable you to get good grade in overall A-level, then i suggest you go for what you really want, which seems to be the diploma..so what if it takes a long time?...remember your student days are the best days of your life, so make the most of it,so what if it takes you 1 or 2 years longer to get to the job you really want. Good luck with your decision and STOP panicing, its not the end of the world!! xx

  3. Just suck it up. It sucks, but look, just study for the science course, one you pass it then you can move on with your life. Sometimes we have to do things we hate to get to where we want to get in life. Once you pass it, then you can forget it. lol.

Maybe you should take a break from school and go back when you're ready to take it again. But really its not going to be fun whether you do it now or in a year from now. Just do it and get it over with.
