I have a problem? need Veterinarian opinion or help.?

My Dog , Well I think it has a broken spine or back. Um I'm in American Samoa, and there is not Vet what so ever. Is there anything can do myself. Any medicines that I can buy, but its only prescribed by Doctors for Humans. the Dog is in pain, Need help.

What is your dog doing?  Is there any paralysis?  Does he have any limbs that show no reaction when you pinch the skin between his toes?  Does he show any physical motion at all?  Need more details.  There are some pain meds that a willing Dr. could prescribe, but need to know the dog's weight, and be sure we have a little clue to what we are treating.

If we knew some of the symptoms, we might find that prednisone would help, unless his back IS broken.  If it truly is, there's not much hope for him.

He did not say he could not afford a vet, he said there WAS NO vet.  Come on, people.  Not everyone lives in a developed country and has access to good vet care for their animals.  I'm sure he feels horrible enough without you jumping all over him.

I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but there is probably not a lot you can do for him to relive his pain without access to a vet's drug store.  If there is a human doctor nearby, take a look here: http://www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dpain.html  There may be a dog-safe drug listed that is also used for humans.  Sadly, if his spine is broken, there likely is not a lot you can do for him.  Even if you are able to relieve his pain while he heals, he will still be incontinent and require help (such as a specially designed wheelchair), to get around.  If you're able to provide something like that, check out this supplier in the US: http://www.doggon.com/about.html  If he's in a lot of pain and there's nothing you can do to help him, it may be kindest to put him down.  I am sorry you have to go through this.

If you can't afford a Vet, don't get an animal.

This is cruel and your dog is probably in horrible agony. You want Veterinarian opinions over the net, please... This is something VERY serious, I HIGHLY suggest you go to a vet right now. As I said before, if you can;t afford a vet, then you should never have an animal.
