I even raised the bridge but even that doesn't help.

  1. One of three things are wrong.

    -You need new strings

-You aren't pressing hard enough on the strings, or the strings are touching other strings. This can happen a lot if you are new and are just learning how to play. If this is the problem, try a different gauge level on the strings. You can ask for light gauge (easier to press down; good for beginners) or medium/heavy gauge (strings are firmer and are less likely to touch. It also helps to create stronger fingers)

-You aren't pressing the strings close to the metal strips on the fret. This produces a clearer sound.

I know it hurts at times to press down the strings harder, and you may be getting marks (callouses) on your fingers when playing for a long time, but you need to do this for a while to develop strong fingers. In a month or two, you won't get any more callouses and will find it easier to play!

    Hope that helps :)

  2. you might be on the frets, or too far away from them. you could need new strings. or you might need to press down a little harder...yeah, pretty much what the other guy said. lol.
