Question:

I have a problem with all my wires for my surround sound, TV and cable box. Please help?

I had everything working great and then I got a new Ent. Center and now I can not get everything working again. LOL

Here is what I have for equiment

HDTV

Hd cable box

Hdmi Dvd player with surround sound

here are the wires i have

HDMI cable

a few differnt rca cables all differnt colors from green to yellow to red to white

and a twist cable wire like the one that comes out of the wall

please help me make everything work again

  1. First:

    - Receiver on the lowest shelf

    - Above the receiver, put the CATV box

    - Higher shelves for the DVD player

    Second:

    - Get the cable box hooked to the wall. Then run HDMI from the cable box to the TV.  Get this working.

    - Add an optical cable from the CATV box to the receiver. Practice toggling between sound from the TV speakers and the Surround Sound system until it gets boring.

    - DVD player: HDMI cable to the TV, optical to the Surround Sound. Practice toggling between the CATV box and DVD player.

    (This is just 1 way to do it, but it works).
