Question:

I have a problem with burning a film onto a dvd

My film is 124 minutes long, my dvd is 120 minutes long. It won't allow me to burn it at all. I thought that it might burn the first 120 minutes and then another 4 minutes onto another dvd, but it doesn't seem so. Can anyone help? (no sarcastic replies, please.)

  1. Get a larger disc

  2. Depends on which size disc you are burning onto. If yopu can, get a larger size disc. If you have the largest, then try a file compressor. (Google it) They are used alot for burning dvd's (standard dvd is too large for a normal disc). I am not going to recommend a specific type, they are like shoes, everyone likes different ones. Go to a discussion site like afterdawn.com to check out the different discussions.

It might take a little research but say an hour later, you will have a free file converter, one you are comfortable with and like, and can have your disc.

  3. See if there are any settings you can change in your burning software.  I know with Nero if you try to burn something larger than the destination DVD, it will offer to shrink the files by slightly reducing quality.  Or, you could buy some dual-layer DVDs.

  4. Total Video2Dvd can help you convert film to dvd simply and directly,

    1. click "New project", add video files, than click "OK"

    2. click "DVD menu", preview dvd menu

    3. click "Output", click "Convert and Burn" start burn DVD.
