Question:

I have a problem with my Internet Explorer on my laptop

I added a downloaded game to my laptop, but now, whenever I use the internet, after a couple of minutes a message will appear saying the internet explorer is not responding and it restarts itself. Also it will load new pages randomly, like to sky poker for example.

I have uninstalled the game, deleted all files attributed to the game. I have also disabled all add-on's, deleted history, cookies, temp files. And the problem still persists.

I hope someone out there can help me and point me in the right direction.

I feel I should also add, the game was scaned twice before I installed, once with Mcafee, and once with norton, one on my PC and once on my laptop.

Cheers

  1. A simple system restore to the last point when your laptop was fully functioning should do the trick.

Or repair IE in the programme's admin panel ?

  2. Try getting some other web browser like Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Safari and there is no need of using two anti virus s/w at a time.

  3. either do a non destructive restore to before you downloaded and installed the software either that or use ccleaner, it gets rid of annoying stuff like that and empties lots of hidden junk you thought youd gotten rid of, its free to download

    www.ccleaner.com

  4. Firefox.

  5. Try Mozilla Firefox. Its free and almost always works.

  6. Just ignore it and use Firefox instead. What you might have done is "upgrade" to IE7, if you have, go back to IE6, that will probably sort your problem.
